CANDLEMASS Postpone Greek Club Shows, Announce More Festival Appearances

March 8, 2002

The reunited classic line-up of CANDLEMASS will perform two club shows in Greece at the end of April—the first “proper” headlining shows the band will have done since they reformed late last year. Originally scheduled to take place in late March but postponed due to an unspecified scheduling conflict, the shows will take place at the following venues:

Apr. 20 – Athens, GRE @ Woodstock
Apr. 21 – Thessaloniki, GRE @ Hidrogeios Club

As previously reported, CANDLEMASS will make the following European festival appearances during the summer:

Jun. 07-08 – Sölvesborg, SWE @ Sweden Rock Festival
Jun. 28-29 – Balingen, GER @ Bang Your Head
Jul. 05-06 – (near) Leipzig, GER @ With Full Force
Aug. 02-03 – Wacken, GER @ Wacken Open Air

In addition, there are tentative plans for CANDLEMASS to partake in a massive “open air” festival in Moscow, Russia at the country's main and biggest stadium, "Luzhniki", on June 29th and 30th. Confirmed artists so far include SAXON, GRAVE DIGGER, PRIMAL FEAR, SODOM, PRETTY MAIDS and several Russian acts, among them KRUIZ. Talks are currently underway for DIMMU BORGIR, IN FLAMES, and MY DYING BRIDE to join the bill, although their involvement has yet to be confirmed.
